Ozone Therapy

In 1885, the Florida Medical Association published America’s first textbook on the medical applications of Ozone Therapy. In the early 1960’s, Dr. Hans Wolff proclaimed, “If Ozone were patentable, it would be the most widely used therapy in medicine and dentistry worldwide.”

Ozone may be used to inject and repair painful, arthritic knees, shoulders, hips, back, thumbs, may strengthen your Immune System and circulation

  • Acute: sinusitis, bronchitis, flu, common cold
  • Chronic: Lyme’s, Auto-Immune – rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, scleroderma, recurrent shingles, Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis
  • Angina, after a heart attack, after a stroke, Macular Degeneration

Ozone administration:

Injection in to joints and scars – this is known as PROLOZONE.

Ozone can be mixed with your blood and then your Ozonated blood is returned in to your body. This is known as MAH or Major Auto-Heme Therapy

Ozone may also be insuflated into the rectum, bladder, or vagina.

The Bell-Ringer for Anti-Aging

A Hyperbaric Oxygen dive followed by an IV known as an MAH (Major Auto Heme – which is your Ozonated blood returned back in to your body +/- Ozonated PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)), which is then followed by an EDTA chelation.

Or, to summarize: HBOT then MAH +/- PRP then Chelation

This takes about 2 ½ hours and some folks do it once a month to counter Mother Nature & Father Time.

PRP

Platelet Rich Plasma

Blood is a mixture of cells – Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, and Platelets.  These cells float around our body in a fluid known as the plasma. By spinning the blood in a centrifuge, these different cells can be separated from one another.

Small tubes of your blood are withdrawn and centrifuged. The Red Blood Cells drop to the bottom, and there is a relatively clear liquid on top of the packed red cells – this is the plasma. In the bottom 1/3 – ¼ of this top part contains the platelets. This is withdrawn, combined with Ozone, and then your PRP is injected back in to you.

PRP can be included with Prolozone injections.  This increases the odds that the Prolozone injections will “work”. Many familiar athletes have used this therapy to not only stay in the game, but, in some cases, get back in the game!

PRP may also be added to the MAH (your Ozonated blood) for a number of conditions ranging from COPD, viral infections (acute cough, cold, flu, chronic recurrent shingles / herpes, auto-immune disease, and for simple anti-aging.)

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – HBOT

I feel the first bits of info to share about this therapy are these:

  • HBOT may cause an 8-fold increase the number of circulating stem cells.
  • HBOT should be done before and after surgery.

Anyone who has had a stroke, regardless of how long it has been, should invest in some HBOT dives. It is not going to be bring about a “cure” or 100% recovery from the stroke, BUT, most stroke victims notice SOME measure of improvement. There is no way to predict how many dives it will take, and it is probably NOT going to be a “one and done”.

The other condition which has an incredibly high probability of responding to HBOT is Autism.

Next, as a frame of reference of the big picture of HBOT:

  • Hyperbaric Oxygen has been used for over 300 years.
  • In Russia, there are 81 indications for using HBOT.
  • In China, there are 65 indications for using HBOT.
  • In the USA, there are 13 indications for using HBOT.

How does it work?  Well, let’s go over some fascinating facts about our circulation.

Our heart is a pump.  It pulls blood in from one end, and pumps it out the other. The blood is pumped out of the heart in high pressure hoses known as arteries.  We feel these when we feel a pulse.

These arteries branch and branch and get smaller and smaller to the point where they are tiny little hoses that can’t be seen with the naked eye. These little hoses are actually the former inner lining of the arteries – the endothelium (in-dough-thee-lee-um).

BUT, now that the outer wall of the artery is gone, we re-name the endothelium as capillaries!

Here’s the mind boggling part – the capillaries, if placed end to end would have a length of about 60,000 miles. (Not a typo! Sixty thousand miles.) OK, what if we spread them out in to one thin sheet?  They would cover about 2 football fields!

Our Red Blood Cells carry Oxygen to the cells (via the capillaries) and remove the Carbon Dioxide from the cells (via the capillaries). The average diameter of the RBC’s is 7 microns. The average diameter of the capillaries is 4 microns. This is like putting a 7 inch plastic bag of jello through a 4 inch pipe!

When we pop the top on a bottle of cola, we see bubbles come out of the liquid.  The pressure was keeping the gas bubbles dissolved in the liquid.

In the Hyperbaric (elevated pressure) Chamber, the chamber is “air tight” and the pressures is slowly increased to a safe level. The person in the chamber breathes concentrated Oxygen at a safe rate, and is now at a pressure that is higher than what it was / is in the room outside the chamber.

So, what’s happening in our body with the higher concentration of Oxygen at this higher pressure?

At normal conditions, our Oxygen drifts out of the capillaries to a distance of about 4 microns.  At the higher O2 concentration and at the higher pressure, O2 diffuses out about 16 microns! Folks when you do this over 60,000 miles or 2 football fields, that s HUGE!

Our bodies need the O2 to heal and combat aging!

Chelation Therapy

Hear ye! Hear ye! Hear ye!

Chelation Therapy has been proven SAFE and EFFECTIVE for treating heart disease, atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, and poor circulation…..

This was demonstrated by the TACT study – the Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy.

This published study fulfilled the holy grail criteria for “legit” studies in that it was an official NIH (National Institute of Health), NCCAM (National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine) double blinded, randomized, placebo controlled trial complete with an IRB (Investigational Review Board).

There were 55,222 infusions – 1 possibly related death – ERGO – It is SAFE!

In Diabetics, it reduced heart attacks and death by about 40%. In non-diabetics, it reduced heart attacks and death by about 20%. NO other therapy can boast this effectiveness!

The study started in 2002 and ended in 2011. There were 134 sites in the US & Canada (Our office was in the top 10 for the number of patients!)

The protocol followed was:

  • 1 IV per week for thirty weeks, then-
  • 1 IV per month for 10 months for a total of 40 infusions.

Realize, the results from TACT are under the handcuffs of  following a rigid protocol – NOT practicing medicine in the real world as you will see from the studies documented in the literature below.

Chelation has its medical roots in the battlefield where some of the nerve gasses were heavy metals.  The antidotes for these gasses were chelating agents that would bind the metals and stop their toxic effects.

In the 1950’s a cardiologist, Norman Clark, MD, published 2 studies demonstrating after EDTA Chelation Therapy  an approximate 88% reduction of symptoms due to blockages in the neck, heart, and legs.

In 1993, Terry Chappell, MD, published a meta-analysis of studies with over 22,000 patients – approximately 87% of the patients have an objective, positive, measurable response to EDTA Chelation Therapy

In 1993, a study published from Denmark by Dr.’s Hancke & Flyte looked at folks waiting to have their procedure. (Side note: Denmark has socialized medicine. Under this system, the hardest part is to get approved to have a procedure.) The folks they looked at had been approved for the procedure – but then, you gotta wait!

27 folks were on the list waiting to have their toe/foot/leg amputated.  They were offered chelation.  24 of the 27 declined to have the amputation. It was not necessary.

65 folks were on the list to have their bypass.  While they were waiting, they were offered the option of chelation until it was time for their operation.  58 declined to have the coronary bypass grafting procedure.

Both the ratios of the above are close to the 88% mark similar to Dr. Clark’s studies.

What does Chelation Therapy do?

It pulls heavy metals from our body.  Most heavy metals have NO business in our body and all they do is hinder our body from working optimally.

Because of the Lead that was in the gasoline, virtually all American have 1000 times more Lead in our bones as compared to the bones of our pre-industrial revolution ancestors.

There are approximately 1400 coal fired plants across America.  Despite EPA efforts, there’s still a lot of Mercury released into the air.

Sea food is famous for having elevated levels of Arsenic.

Vitamin C

Oral and Intravenous (IV) are a really good idea!

A good starting point is to google: Frederick Klenner and Vitamin C.

Why is it that dogs, cows, and birds rarely have heart attacks, but heart attacks are common to us humans?

The answer is: Except for the fruit bat, the guinea pig, a few monkeys, and the human being, ALL the other animals MAKE their own Vitamin C, WE DON’T!

Blockages or plaque only occur on Vitamin C deficient portions of blood vessels. If the animals can get food, they make their own Vitamin C, 7 days a week 24 hours a day. We humans can’t and don’t.

Taking Vitamin C twice daily to a dose just under bowel tolerance is a really good idea!

Tom Levy, MD JD, is one of the world experts & authors with regards to Vitamin C. He has written books about Vitamin C. Below are some of the titles lifted out of his book, Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, and Toxins:

  • Chapter 2 – Curing, Reversing, and Preventing Infectious Diseases:
    • Polio, Viral Hepatitis, Measles, Mumps, Viral Encephalitis, Chicken Pox, Herpes, Viral Pneumonia, Influenza, Rabies, AIDS, The Common Cold
    • Non-viral Infections àDiphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Tuberculosis, Streptococcal Infections, Leprosy, Typhoid Fever, Malaria, Brucellosis, Trichinosis
    • And, there are others: Amebic Dysentery, Bacillary Dysentery, Pseudomonmas Infections, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Staphylococcal Infections, Trypanosomal Infections
  • Chapter 3 – The Ultimate Antidote:
    • Venoms, Pesticides, Radiation, Carbon Monoxide, Mushroom Poisoning, Alcohol

IV Vitamin C reduces the tissue damage incurred in radiation therapy.

In a recent small study , 9 people with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer were given IV Vitamin C twice a week in between chemo treatments. Survival time with chemo alone is approximately 5 months. When patients are given the Vitamin C IV, their average survival time was approximately 13 months. (Cancer Chemother Pharmacol. 2013 Mar;71(3):765-75)

Meyer’s Cocktail

The Meyer’s Cocktail or the Meyer’s Magic IV is a very popular IV originally concocted by the Baltimore physician, John Meyers, MD.

It is a mixture of “B” vitamins, Vitamin C, minerals, and a few other ingredients that is used to help folks with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, depression, and cancer patients battling fatigue and the side effects of chemo. It also has some measure of notoriety for treating hangovers.

Sometimes, folks will come in to get a Meyer’s Cocktail just to get a boost of energy.

UVBI / UBI (Ultra-Violet Blood Irradiation)

Also known as:

  • Extracorporeal Photopheresis
  • Hematologic Oxidative Therapy
  • Extracorporeal Photochemotherapy
  • Photo-Oxidation
  • Photobiomodulation
  • Photo-Luminescence
  • Photo Medicine

UVBI is a treatment modality utilizing an FDA registered technology.

In the early 1900’s, it was discovered that ultraviolet light could be used to kill bacteria and viruses. The next bright idea was to run all of a person’s blood through an ultraviolet light to treat infections. As experience was gained, it was finally determined it was only necessary to run only a very small portion of the blood through the light to get results.

This is how we do the treatment today. A small amount of your blood is withdrawn from your body and injected in to an IV bag. Your blood is then passed through a box holding 3 ultraviolet lights and back in to you. This process may take about an hour.

The precise mechanism as to “How it Works” is not known. At least part of the answer seems to be that:

  1. The Ultraviolet light kills some of the bacteria or viruses in the blood and these killed organisms act as “vaccines” or stimulators of the immune system to rally a response
  2. The Ultraviolet light has a cascading, energizing and boosting effect on the immune system causing it to adjust itself to what the body needs.

Positive clinical experiences are reported with viral and bacterial infections, Auto-immune diseases, Lymphoma cancers, as well as inflammatory disorders.

The clinical experience is that some patients see results after 2 or 3 treatments. However, one should not give up on the therapy until at least 15 or so treatments have been administered.

IASIS Neural Stimulation (INS)

When the brain is at its best, functioning normally, the brain nerves work together well.

When the brain experiences a concussion (sports, car wreck, combat…), an undue or unfair amount of stress or abuse, often the brain nerves go in to a “defensive” or “protection” mode.

When the brain reverts to this mode, the brain nerves do not work together as well as they used to, and/or they work differently than they used to.  The result: anxiety, depression, PTSD, insomnia, decrease memory, etc………

INS can help the brain to re-boot or re-wire itself back to working and feeling normal!

INS utilizes small sensors on the scalp do two things:

  • Detect and transmit brain wave activity back to the IASIS module
  • The IASIS module uses this information to adjust the alternating micro current that is  going back across the scalp, across /through the skull bones and stimulating the neurons in the brain.

This is the newest paradigm shift in neurofeedback that is a combination of all the above terms.

NO! It does NOT hurt! NO! You do NOT get shocked! NO! You do NOT lose consciousness. NO! You do NOT  experience any kind of mind or mood alteration of your senses or awareness.

As a reference point, our cell phones expose us to a signal that is about a million times stronger than the current used in INS.

The intensity of the INS current is about 3 trillionth of a watt.

Recently, the VA has embraced this as the most effective piece of the therapeutic pie available for our veterans – because it is safe, effective, and relatively less expensive in the long run.

Some of the issues / conditions that have responded to INS:

  • Depression
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms of:
  • anxiety
  • hypervigilance ( or vigilant alertness)
  • fears
  • anger/rage
  • deep sadness
  • irritability and restlessness
  • feelings of helplessness
  • sleeping problems
  • Obsession/compulsions
  • Closed-head injury symptoms of:
  • irritability and explosiveness
  • loss of energy, motivation, and sense of humor
  • problems of clarity, thinking and estimating clearly
  • memory difficulties
  • sleeping problems
  • being unable to do more than one thing at a time
  • problems following conversations and reading material
  • problems absorbing and taking to heart what people say
  • Spasticity, movement, and balance problems caused by stroke and in some cases spinal cord injury
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia pain
  • Attention-deficit and hyperactivity problems
  • Autism in children and young adults

THE IASIS MCN (MICRO CURRENT NEUROFEEDBACK PROCEDURE)

The brainwave recording process requires some electrode gel or cream to be applied to the skin on certain sites on the head where sensors will be attached.  One sensor is placed behind each ear to improve the quality of the recording.  A third sensor will then be pressed to your neck as the reference or ground.  Two additional sensors are moved to other scalp sites. No invasive procedures are used.

The equipment assesses a your brainwaves — extremely faint electrical signals measured at discrete locations on the scalp.   After a short assessment of these brainwaves by a clinician, the equipment itself then generates extremely faint, battery-generated signals that the brain may respond to in beneficial ways.

During the sessions you will be asked to sit quietly.  You will not be asked to think of anything in particular, or to learn anything.  In fact, you will be asked to not think of any imagery or constructive thoughts. We have found that this can slow treatment progress. Your brain can detect the feedback, although you will not see or feel anything.

You will be asked to keep track of discomforts or side effects experienced during your treatment.

You will also be asked about your most prominent symptoms before treatment and how they change.

DURATION:

You will have as many sessions as you need, each session lasting between one second and several minutes duration.  The rest of the time will be spent, as needed, talking about what effects, if any, the feedback has had on you.  The initial session may take 45-60 minutes in total or shorter as needed. Follow up sessions may take 25-30 minutes.

It is difficult to predict how many INS (Iasis MCN: Micro Current Neurofeedback) sessions will be required.  The following estimates are based on our experience; some patients have needed fewer sessions, and occasionally a few more:

If your problem came on suddenly after a life of high functioning and you are comfortable with the longer periods of feedback, you can expect 15 – 20 sessions.  This is only an average range; however treatment may require more or less than the average figures.

If you have a lifelong history of multiple problems, you may need many more sessions, as in 30,  40, 50 or more.

PEMF: Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields: How They Heal

By William Pawluk, MD, MSc

Board Certified Family Physician and Holistic Health Practitioner; Former Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and University of Maryland

Dr. Pawluk is the creator of www.drpawluk.com, an authoritative informational source on PEMF’s. He has also authored a book, and appeared and consulted for the media, as well as universities conducting research.

Having healthy cells is not a passive process. Active, regular tuning-up of our cells is not only feasible, but also necessary to slow aging and reduce the risk of cell dysfunction. We are, after all, only as healthy as our cells. Imperceptible cell dysfunction that is not corrected early can lead to disease. Fine-tuning can be done daily in only minutes, using pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs). In addition, when there is a known imbalance (when symptoms are present) or there is a known disease or condition, PEMF treatments, used either alone or along with other therapies, can often help cells rebalance dysfunction faster.

PEMF’s work to:

  • Reduce pain, inflammation, the effects of stress on the body, and platelet adhesion.
  • Improve energy, circulation, blood and tissue oxygenation, sleep quality , blood pressure and cholesterol levels, the uptake of nutrients, cellular detoxification and the ability to regenerate cells.
  • Balance the immune system and stimulate RNA and DNA.
  • Accelerate repair of bone and soft tissue.
  • Relax muscles.

PEMFs have been used extensively for decades for many conditions and medical disciplines, and results can be seen in animals as well as humans. The National Institutes of Health have made PEMF’s a priority for research. In fact, many PEMF devices have already been approved by the FDA, some specifically to fuse broken bones, wound healing, pain and tissue swelling, and treat depression. Most therapeutic PEMF devices are considered safe by various standards and organizations.

What are PEMF’s and how do they work?

Science teaches us that everything is energy. Energy is always dynamic and, therefore, has a frequency; it changes by the second or minute, for example, at the very least.

All energy is electromagnetic in nature. All atoms, chemicals and cells produce electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Every organ in the body produces it own signature bio-electromagnetic field. {This is what the MRI – the Magnetic Resonance Imaging X-ray “sees” or shows us.} Science has proven that our bodies actually project their own magnetic fields and that all 70 trillion cells in the body communicate via electromagnetic frequencies. Nothing happens in the body without an electromagnetic exchange. When the electromagnetic activity of the body ceases, life ceases.

PEMF – The pulsing  magnetic fields exercise and re-charge our cells.

From Natural News

Innovative technology backed by extensive research is emerging in North America. You may not yet be familiar with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy or exercise, but it is widely used in Eastern Europe as standard therapy and adds a new, exciting dimension to biology and medicine.

Used most commonly in the field of orthopedics, PEMF is a reparative technique for treatment of non-union fractures from sports or accident related injuries. Athletes in the NFL, major league baseball players, boxers and folks like you and me are finding extraordinary success with this therapy. More than a quarter million patients with severe un-united fractures have benefited worldwide from this surgically non-invasive treatment, without risk, discomfort, or the high costs of operative repair.

Researchers have discovered that when there is an injury and tissues are stressed, the body creates a low power electrical signal. They believe this excites the body’s natural mechanism to repair damaged tissue.

Many factors can disrupt these signals causing pain, inflammation and loss of function.

PEMF therapy mimics these natural signals and activates the normal healing process stimulating growth and repair of tissue.

Cellular magnetic therapy and/or exercise use electrical energy to direct a series of magnetic pulses through injured tissue and bone. Each magnetic pulse induces an electrical signal that stimulates cellular rehabilitation and exercise. When a pulsing magnetic field penetrates into a bone, the pulsing magnetic effects cause tiny mechanical movements. This creates small electrical currents inside the bones and cells.

In 1956 two Japanese scientists discovered the so called piezo-electric effect of bones. By measuring the voltage between two electrodes attached over a mechanically bent bone, they proved that electrical properties exist inside bones.

Dr. Martin Milner, ND, professor of cardiovascular and pulmonary medicine, and CEO/medical director of the Center for Natural Medicine Inc. in Portland, Oregon explains it this way: “PEMF takes alternating current (AC) and transforms it into DC, producing variations ranging from low to high voltage. This voltage is passed through a coil generating a safe, pulsed magnetic field around the coil.” As the magnetic field is pulsed on, cells are exercised. In the off phase of the pulse, the cells relax. “As cells expand and relax, they rehabilitate.”

Over 5,000 studies have been published worldwide over the last 40 years demonstrating PEMF therapy’s effectiveness healing “soft-tissue wounds; suppressing inflammatory responses at the cell membrane level to alleviate pain, and increasing range of motion. The value of PEMF therapy has been shown to cover a wide range of conditions, with well documented trials carried out by hospitals, rheumatologists and physiotherapists.”

Kevin Greenspan, DC, in Black Mountain, North Carolina says that his patients using PEMF therapy report relief from arthritis, fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, migraines, depression and sinusitis. He agrees with Dr. Andy Bassett, MD that “This idea of manipulating cellular activity with magnetically induced electrical currents is looking like one of the hottest new fields.”

Scientific review in university laboratories and medical schools, along with numerous PEMF technology studies reported in medical journals, substantiates what enlightened patients already know.

Because demand is growing for this new healing technique, those of us in the field of health are encouraged that people are finding help harnessing the body’s own ability to heal.
